Christmas Supersedes All!

Have I not been spending enough time in my quilt studio lately?

Hmmm. Seems my calendar should have been changed two weeks ago.

Wonder why the fall decorations are still up? See the little maple leaves on the string? You may not be able to tell, but the valance over the window is a fabric printed with brightly colored autumn leaves. (Wonder where my snowflake valance is?)

My sewing table stacked with fabric to be filed away and mending piled on chair. I meant to get all that done a week or so ago.

Well, here's a problem. This is my cutting table. I think. It must be under there somewhere.

My latest in progress baby quilt is sandwiched and ready to be quilted. Love the red polka dot backing, no? (Oops, doesn't show up red at all in this picture!)

I know how I want to quilt it. But looks like I'm gonna have to do a little cleaning and straightening (and mending) before my sewing machine is free for quilting.

Apparently, other things have been commanding my time, effort, and attention lately. Ah yes, holiday preparations. That's what I've been concentrating on. Christmas does kinda take up the better part of December, doesn't it?

Happy Holidays, everybody!

looks like you're happy and busy! who cares about what month the calendar is on?? I'm sure you'll quilt that nine patch sooner than I can clean MY mess!!

When you get done tidying up your room, come tidy mine!!! I have so many piles of fabrics around waiting either to be put away or cut up I can hardly walk in my bedroom, LOL.

Hi, Beth - But out of YOUR mess appears finished project after finished project! Don't know how you do it.

Hi, Jen - Now that surprises me! I would have guessed that you would be a super neat freak with all your stuff. (Not that there is a thing wrong with being the opposite. Years ago I had an extremely creative friend who felt totally stifled whenever she cleaned and put everything where it was supposed to be!)

that quilt is super duper cute! and LOL about the November calendar. I hope you find more time to spend sewing. :)

amandajean - I guess it's just the time of year (WHEN has the month of December ever been slow?!) when something (my quilting . . . sob!) has to fall by the wayside. (Oh yeah, and turning calendars, too.) Everyday stuff that must be done and the preparations for the holidays just take up too much time. (I think I feel Scrooge taking over my mind and body.)

Mama Pea - the REST of my house remains reasonably tidy (you are right, I don't like clutter and am pretty organized) it's just that ONE corner of my bedroom which is currently serving as quilt project waiting area and present hiding zone. I can't wait til after Christmas when at least some of that will be removed! The rest? We just don't have enough storage :( At this point I only dream of having a room dedicated to quilting...
