This is a potholder I made a few years ago when I was trying to learn how to quilt with a meandering/stipple stitch.
Oh. My. Gosh. Have you ever seen a sorrier result, even as a first attempt?
And, of course, the flip side isn't any better!The big question is: Why haven't I destroyed this? Burned it. Buried it in the garden. Let the dog tear it to pieces.
Well, I guess it is an excellent example of a bad job. :o)

Well I think it looks great! (That coming from someone with NO CLUE on how to quilt), LOL! I already laugh when I look at my first attempt at knitting, and that was only 3 months ago :)

We all have to start somewhere right? It's been so long for me to qiult I think thats much nicer then what mine would look like. At least it s useable right?
It's funny, because I am no expert at machine quilting, but I did some a nice spiral pattern last year, just doodling, but still can't make stippling look right!
As for this piece, at least it is useful and you won't worry about spilling / scorching it when you use it :)
I have samples of my beginning stitches on the kids beds so I run across the memories daily!! It is fun to see progress though..right?

Hey, Jen - And I have trouble with spirals! My loops always come out way to small and squished!
I kinda wish I would burn a good sized hole in it . . . then I could give it a decent burial and be rid of it!
Hi, Beth - Fun to see the progress? That's assuming we are making progress! I swear my hand quilting stitches were better when I very first started quilting than they are now!
