If I weren't so slow moving and cranky when I don't get enough sleep, I think I'd start staying up half the night to fit all the things into a day's time that have been falling by the wayside recently.
Our early spring has allowed us to get outside to start on yard, garden, and wood work much earlier than usual. This in itself is a good thing, but at the same time I feel my winter inside has been cut short.
In the past couple of weeks, I've been sneaking in minutes of quilting time here and there to work on a set of six summer placemats.

To date I have all six constructed and quilted,

Then, of course, I'll have the hand sewing of the binding on the reverse sides to do.
With luck they will be done by true summer time, and I'm sure I'll enjoy using them. At least I hope they'll be done by then. Maybe I will start trying to get by on four hours sleep a night. Nah, I KNOW that won't work!

Those are beautiful colors together!
Great colors, you have a good eye in mixing them. I havn't sewn a stitch this past winter. The quilting is still sitting in it's sad (growing) pile. My studio is underway and should be finished by next month YEAH!!!
I know those pretty placemats will be "host" to some yummy food this summer!!
Hi, Erin - Thank you very much! I just hope the "plain" middles don't show food stains too easily!
Hey, Katie - You have got to be SO excited about getting your very own dedicated studio! And it's no wonder you haven't sewn a stitch this past winter . . . you've produced four gazillion knitted garments!
Hi, Beth - I hope I can manage to make a few good meals this summer but it's also the time I'm not in the kitchen much. Lots and lots of salads from the garden!
Love the colors! I too am trying to find enough time to quilt and garden...rainy days are in abundance still, and they seem to come on my day off. So not much gardening and deck painting are being done yet!
Hey, Sharon - Oh, boy, could we use some of your rainy days sent our way! We'd be glad to take them. But I can easily remember so many rainy days in the spring that just seemed to put me farther and farther behind on garden work so you have my sympathy. Especially when you're working a job outside the home, your time is so very limited when it comes to gardening. Hang in there . . . and the deck will still need painting when the rain stops! ;o)
I agree with the other ladies too...I love the colors. Have fun finishing your quilt!
